Taskdop Documentation

What is Taskdop?

Taskdop is a handoff platform that makes task tracking simple and transparent. While traditional project management tools ask "what stage is this in?", Taskdop focuses on "who has this task right now?"

You create a task, write a description, and send it directly to a teammate. They accept it, complete it, or forward it to someone else. Every step is recorded on the timeline. You can send nudges for pending tasks and review every past action.

Core Concepts Glossary

Handoff

Transferring a task from one user to another with context. Each handoff passes responsibility to the new person and is recorded in the timeline.

Nudge

A recorded reminder sent to the task owner. When a task goes idle, a notification is sent automatically or manually to the assignee.

Wait Time

The time a task has been idle with its current owner. Visible in every task list and detail panel — priority increases as wait time grows.

Timeline

The chronological record of every action on a task from start to finish. Who did what and when, what notes were added, how many nudges were sent — everything is visible on the timeline.

Handoff Desk

The main screen where users see all their tasks from their own perspective. Divided into four tabs: Incoming, Mine, Sent, and Following.

Quick Start

3

Create Your First Task

Click "New Task" on the Handoff Desk, enter a title and description, then send it to a teammate.

4

Track and Nudge

5

Complete the Task

When a task arrives, accept it, do the work, and click Complete to close the task.

Core Concepts

Taskdop is built on the concept of handoffs. Transferring work from one person to another is like a pass in soccer: whoever has the ball (task) holds the responsibility.

Every task has an owner (creator), an assignee (current holder), and a story (timeline). Tasks can be accepted, sent back, forwarded, or completed.
